New Zealand were at one point looking down the barrel at the halfway stage, but Jimmy Neesham’s maiden ODI fifty bailed them out in Mohali. Neesham and lower-order helped the Blackcaps in positing 285 in the 3rd ODI.
The Blackcaps were reeling at 199/8 when they had lost five wickets inside 50 runs. But, Neesham and Matt Henry stitched a 84-run partnership for the ninth wicket to help the kiwis post a competitive total.

Earlier, Tom Latham continued his good run of form to score his third successive fifty in the series. He and Ross Taylor made 73 runs for the third wicket, but they fell within a space of nine runs.
Kedar Jadhav was New Zealand’s wrecker-in-chief and ripped the middle-order apart. He finished with three wickets, while Umesh Yadav also finished with three. Jasprit Bumrah and Amit Mishra took two each.
India now need 286 runs to win and take a 2-1 lead in the five-match series. The series is currently locked at one game apiece. India won the opening encounter in Dharamsala, while New Zealand leveled the series in Delhi.
“It’s a good wicket to bat on and its a good total, but our line-up should chase it down,” Jadhav said. “We have good quality spinners in the middle, you need to be good against spin, and our spin bowling has been very well.”
