The Chennai Super Kings’ off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has been ruled out of next two games owing to a ‘split middle finger’. Ashwin sustained the injury against the Kolkata Knight Riders and has not flown with the team to Kolkata for CSK’s next match.

Ashwin got injured while fielding at cover, when a catch of Suryakumar Yadav hit his middle finger. He left the field following the incident, which injured the finger of his bowling hand.

The Super Kings’ team manager in the post-match press conference informed about the injury that ruled out the off-spinner from the next two games.

“Ashwin has split in his middle finger. We do not know how many stitches he will require,” CSK manager said. “He has been taken to the hospital. The team has decided not to take Ashwin for the next two matches.”
