After losing the opening tie against South Africa, India will get an opportunity to settle some scores in Cuttack in a must win game to keep the series alive.
In the last match, it was the umpiring, dew and bad bowling, which had destroyed India’s chance to start the series on a high. So, India’s captain MS Dhoni will be looking to do things differently this time however.
It’s actually easier said than done. India did everything right in the last game after losing the all-important toss. Spearheaded by some bold approach, Rohit Sharma cracked a superb hundred and took India to a commanding position.
From there, South Africa needed a special effort and eventually, they got one from JP Duminy, who had survived two mighty close lbw appeals during the run-chase. The dew factor helped South Africa immensely, as the the ball kept skidding onto the bat.
Due to lack of experience, left-arm spinner Axar Patel got hit all over the park as the ball wasn’t gripping the surface. In the 2nd T20 match, India will now have to bring in more experiences.
Probably, the team management may be tempted to use the services of a veteran like Harbhajan Singh or in-form leg-spinner like Amit Mishra. Probably, the team may also be tempted to make a cosmetic changes in the pace bowling department. No mater what India do, they will have to turn the table this time!
