Team India’s performance in the 2nd T20 can be summed up in just one word – spineless. The batting was in complete shambles, the fielding wasn’t sharp enough, and there was nothing on the board really for the bowlers to defend.

But, what was more worst was the behavior of the crowd, which threw bottles on the ground that resulted in the suspension of play twice. Despite the crowd trouble, South Africa managed to register a thumping six-wicket win, with 17 balls to spare to clinch the three-match series.

Spinners, Ravichandran Ashwin, in particular, tried to make a game out of nothing by picking three top-order wickets of Hashim Amla, Faf du Plessis and AB de Villiers. But, you need much more than 92 runs on the board to put a side like South Africa under any sort of pressure.

India lost the match in the first-half itself, when they were bundled for a mere in 92 in 17.2 overs. Not even a single batsman manage to put up a fight, with six batsmen failing to even touch the double digit mark.

The start was itself shaky, with South Africa producing a couple of run outs from which India couldn’t recover till the end. Suresh Raina and Rohit Sharma top-scored for the hosts, making a 22 each, but it was insufficient at the end.

Chasing 93 wasn’t a challenge for South Africa, but skipper MS Dhoni tried to make it as much tough for South Africa as possible. Dhoni deployed spinners from both ends, and it paid off as Ashwin ripped through the Proteas batting.
