India’s swashbuckling middle-order batsman Suresh Raina participated in the Swacch Bharat Abhiyan, after been nominated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Wednesday.
Raina, who is included in India’s Test team for the forthcoming Australia tour, took time out to fulfil the challenge and visited a children’s home in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.
The Indian batsman cleaned the Ashram’s campus as part of the campaign and also spent time with children. Raina interacted with them and pointed out the importance of keeping the surroundings clean.
Raina, meanwhile, also nominated nine people, namely Rajiv Shukla, PR Srijesh, singers Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal, badminton players Saina Nehwal and Srikanth Kidambi, teammates Praveen Kumar, RP Singh and Piyush Chawla, under the Swacch Bharat Abhiyan.
