After months of continuous cricket, Team India players finally got some much-needed rest post their respective Indian Premier League (IPL) campaigns, ahead of Bangladesh tour.

Leg-spinner Karn Sharma reckons his 20 days gap was sufficient to switch modes from T20s to Test cricket. Team India will commence the Bangladesh tour with a one-off Test in Fatullah.

“I don’t think it would be difficult to switch modes, as we have got plenty of time between the IPL and the Bangladesh series,” Karn said in an exclusive interview to Drcricket.com.

“There is a 20 days gap, which I think is sufficient to change the mindset according to the formats. But, yes, sometimes when the gap is of something like five days it gets difficult to adjust.”

Lately, the players were mostly involved in limited-over cricket, including tri-series in Australia, followed by the World Cup and the recently concluded IPL 2015.

Karn insisted a few small adjustments are required, fitness wise, to play Test cricket, as mostly the players were involved in T20s that are played mostly at night.

“Additionally, the T20 matches were played under lights, so there would be small adjustments to be made while playing Test cricket, fitness wise,” Karn said.

“But, it is a part and parcel of international cricket and pretty normal for as a professional cricketer,” he added. “So, small adjustments are required, nothing major.”
