The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) has announced a 15-member squad for the five-match ODI series against India, starting October 8 in Mumbai.

Destructive opening batsman Chris Gayle will miss the series because of a hamstring injury and is still rehabilitating, WICB announced in a statement.

Gayle is the only notable omission from the squad, as other than him left-arm spinner Nikita Miller and opener Kirk Edwards have also failed to make a cut.

West Indies have called back all-rounder Marlon Samuels, batsman Dwayne Smith and pacer Jerome Taylor for the series, while Leon Johnson is also included in the squad.

Taylor is making a comeback after four years, while Samuels and Smith are included after been left out for the series against New Zealand and Bangladesh.

Dwayne Bravo will lead the team for the series, Kemar Roach will spearhead the pace department and Sunil Narine will be the frontline spinner.

West Indies ODI Squad: Dwayne Bravo (c), Darren Bravo, Jason Holder, Leon Johnson, Sunil Narine, Kieron Pollard, Denesh Ramdin, Ravi Rampaul, Kemar Roach, Andre Russell, Darren Sammy, Marlon Samuels, Lendl Simmons, Dwayne Smith and Jerome Taylor.
