The Chennai Super Kings had just won the match against the King XI Punjab in Mohali and topped the group stages with nine wins, but there wasn’t much celebration in the dressing room.

The players were extremely happy and smiling all through, but it was more of a soaking in each other’s success. Like before, CSK don’t make a lot of noise after winning or losing a match. They just remain in their elements all the time. This is what makes CSK a very special team.

So, when they take on Mumbai in the first qualifier of the IPL at the Wankhede stadium on Tuesday evening, CSK will treat this game as another crucial tie despite having a slight edge over Mumbai.

In last two occasions they played against each other, CSK have dominated most of the moment, but the storyline has been 1-1. CSK were right on top of their game, in their last meeting, throughout the match till Hardik Pandya played a blinder.

He managed to steal the game from CSK from the jaws of defeat. CSK had lost that match by six wickets. In the earlier game at the Wankhede stadium, CSK had beaten Mumbai by the same margin.

Can Mumbai be able to stop CSK? You can’t really predict this one. A play-off match of this stature is something that which can go either ways. CSK have played at this level more often than the Mumbai outfit and so they will be more confident in their approach than their opponents.

However, statistic wise, CSK and Mumbai have the same counts. Out of 20 matches that they have played against each other, each team has won 10 of them. And in last five matches, Mumbai have won three. It will be interesting to see how things unfold in this match on Tuesday!
