It’s right in your face when you are satisfied with something. Very rarely you find some one whose inner feelings are not reflected on the face. Australia pacer Mitchell Starc isn’t an exception and doesn’t like hiding his emotions.
Coming back to the field after a long injury lay-off, Starc wasn’t at his marauding best against the West Indies in the second match of the tri-nation series in Guyana, but he was good enough to stamp his authority.
His first spell was filled with the in-swinging toe-crushing yorkers that troubled the West Indies openers. There were a few over-pitched deliveries too. The overall comeback was extremely satisfying.
Starc ran in fast, pitched the ball up and also swung it perfectly. He himself looked quite happy with the way he bowled. There were a few occasional smile on his face to reflect his inner feeling. It was quite evident that he was back in the thick of things and enjoying every moment of it.
It’s completely a different thing that Starc’s comeback once again raised the debate over who is the best fast bowler in the world right now — is it Bangladesh’s Mustafizur Rahman or the giant Australian fast bowler? But his comeback is good news for international cricket. The batsmen can’t have a ball all the time.
Till the 2015 World Cup, Starc was the best fast bowler in the world till his injury happened. Thereafter, Mustafizur burst into the scene and became an overnight sensation. So much so that the world viewed him to be the best in absence of Starc. Now that the Aussies is back, let’s see who keeps the smile intact!
