After spending a considerable amount of time in Australia last season, the Indian cricket team is poised to return to the continent-nation for ODI and T20I series in January next year.
Team India would be playing five ODIs and three T20Is against the hosts, starting January 12 at the WACA in a month long tour in a bid to prepare for the World T20.
The ODIs would be played at the WACA, Gabba, MCG, Manuka Oval and SCG, while the T20s would take place at the Adelaide Oval, MCG and SCG.
India’s opening T20 would be played on January 26 on Australia Day, which is also celebrated as the Republic Day in India. Interestingly, on the same day Indian eves would be facing Australia team in a T20, making it a double-header.
“These teams met in the semi-final of the World Cup in a match which saw more than 300 million fans watching on Star TV in India, and we want to continue to build a strong rivalry which will be on show throughout the summer,” Cricket Australia’s Mike McKenna said.
The Indian cricket team received a huge support in Australia when they last toured for a full-fledged series, followed by the World Cup 2015.
