Ashwin, Harbhajan spice up things on final day, but Test ends in a draw

Team India

It was an expected result at the end, but India did try to pull off something off the match in Fatullah as the visitors spiced up things in the final day of the one-off Test by enforcing the follow-on.

Both teams were again greeted by steady drizzle in the Sunday morning, but as the rain stopped, groundsmen ensured there should be some play possible, by making the ground playable in no time.

Team India come out with a lot of intent and ripped through Bangladesh batting, with Ravichandran Ashwin picking up a fifer, while Harbhajan Singh taking three wickets.

The Indian off-spinners knotted Bangladesh batsmen and bundled them for 256 in the first innings, on a pitch that was assigning the spinners, despite being under covers for so long.

A spirited performance from both off-spinners spared a hope of a stunning India win, with 30 overs remaining in the final session of play.

It was a tall ask to get 10 wickets in the final session, but Virat Kohli deployed his spinners from both ends early in the innings.

Harbhajan and Ashwin, again, created a few chances, falling just short of the fielders, as Tamim Iqbal and Imrul Kayes played through the 15 overs, both teams agreed to shake hands.
