Ashish Nehra on MS Dhoni: Best Captain That Delivers Under Pressure

Be it captaincy or batting, India’s limited-over captain MS Dhoni is arguably the best player in the world. He has bailed his team out on numerous occasions with his skills.

India’s nerve-wrecking win over Bangladesh in the World T20 was one such occasion when the Indian captain showed nerves of steel to take his team home.

Dhoni’s ability to remain calm under pressure, has invited praise from pacer Ashish Nehra, who has called Captain Cool the best skipper that can deliver under pressure.

“Right from my debut under Mohammed Azharuddin (in 1999), I have played under so many captains but when it comes to remaining cool and delivering under pressure, Mahendra Singh Dhoni is the best.”

“I have not seen anyone who can remain so cool under pressure,” the Indian Cricket Team’s most experienced bowler, Nehra said.

The veteran pacer also recalled his comeback in 2009, saying that it was an enjoyable experience to play under Dhoni on a comeback.

Nehra said when he came back into the team after a gap of few years he was a mature bowler and managed to relate with Dhoni’s philosophy.

“When I made a comeback under Dhoni in 2009, I was more matured and I knew more about my bowling and also could understand and relate to Dhoni’s philosophy of captaincy,” Nehra said.
