It’s very tough to dominate a team like the Chennai Super Kings when they are playing at home. Thanks to their skipper MS Dhoni and this team’s excellent track record at home, the CSK is actually the toughest opponent.
With likes of Suresh Raina, R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohit Sharma and Ashish Nehra in the line-up, this team is actually the most dangerous side in the competition. Then, there are four strong foreign players like Dwayne Bravo, Faf de Plessis, Dwayne Smith and Brendon McCullum, which make this side a real strong unit.
In comparison, the Delhi Daredevils may not have the best line-up, but you can’t rule out a team which has Yuvraj Singh. He is the highest paid player in the IPL and he has some extra pressure on him to perform this season. And then, there are quite a few players who are of international repute, but the CSK are a much cohesive team.
For last few years, the Daredevils haven’t been performing the way they should have, and, so, this year after spending good amount of money on buying some of the top available players, the management is expecting a better show.
And nothing beats like starting their IPL season with win. But if you are starting your campaign against a formidable side like the CSK, the Daredevils will have to bring out something special for their resources.
For CSK, the good thing is that Dhoni is fresh after a very good World Cup, where he led the side till the semifinal stage. The captain not only batted brilliantly in the tournament, but also was superb behind the stumps and did some smart captaincy on the field. So, all put together, CSK have the edge over the Daredevils.
