Team India has received a big setback days before the series against West Indies, as Rohit Sharma has been ruled out for the limited-overs series because of multiple injuries.

Rohit is currently nursing a finger and shoulder injury, due to which he missed the Champions League T20 as well. He was in race against time to recover from niggles but now he is not to feature in the series.

It was earlier expected that Rohit will play in the last two ODIs and one-off T20 but he is yet to recover from a shoulder injury, although his finger is fractured finger is fine.

Rohit is likely to be available for the three-match Test series but for that he will have to prove his fitness as the selectors are not willing to rush him into action, seeing the forthcoming World Cup.

The finger injury had cut short Rohit Sharma’s England tour and Ajinkya Rahane was made to fill the opener’s role in the one-dayers. Rahane is likely to open with Shikhar Dhawan in the forthcoming series, starting October 8.
