India’s batting has been exposed time and again against the spin. In the upcoming West Indies Test series, it will be at test once again. India’s batting coach Sanjay Bangar, however, thinks otherwise.

“If a good delivery gets you out, it does not matter whether it is from a spinner or a seamer,” Bangar said. “We need to accept that and worry about the quality of the delivery instead.”

“That is something we have discussed,” he added. “I don’t find an inherent weakness against either spin or seamers for any particular batsmen. It is more to do with the kind of deliveries they get.”

The pitches in the West Indies are likely to assist the spinners. In the recent ODI tri-series, they helped the spinners more than the seamers. They might play the same in the Test series too.

India are in the Caribbean to play a four-match Test series, starting tomorrow. The opening game will be played at Antigua’s Sir Vivian Richards Stadium.

The second Test match will take place in Jamaica, followed by games in Gros Islet and Port of Spain.
