The Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) has announced a 15-member squad for the Asia Cup and the World T20. MS Dhoni will be leading the side in both tournaments.
Delhi allrounder Pawan Negi has been a surprise inclusion in the team, while left-arm spinner Axar Patel has been dropped for the marquee tournaments.
Pacer Jasprit Bumrah, meanwhile, has been retained after making an impressive debut in Australia, while Mohammad Shami has been drafted into the squad.
Veterans Ashish Nehra, Yuvraj Singh and Harbhajan Singh have been retained in the team, while the top-order featuring Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan & Virat Kohli remains the same.
India are going into the Asia Cup and World T20 with three frontline spinners, namely Ravindra Jadeja, Harbhajan and Ravichandran Ashwin.
