ICC Technical Committee Confirms Manish Pandey as Yuvraj Singh’s Replacement

By: ICC Press Release

Manish Pandey

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has confirmed that the technical committee has approved Manish Pandey as the replacement of Yuvraj Singh in the ongoing World T20.

Yuvraj hurt his ankle while batting against Australia, and has been ruled out of the tournament. Pandey, meanwhile, had made a promising start of his India career in colours.

Any injury or illness-based replacement requires a written submission to the Event Technical Committee along with a diagnosis from a medical practitioner as to the extent of the injury or illness.

Once replaced, a player may not return to the squad save as an approved subsequent replacement for another injured or ill player.

India are set to face West Indies in the second semifinal of the World T20, slated to take place at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium on Thursday.
