Despite earning tremendous success in the shorter versions of the game, the Mumbai batsman hasn’t managed to get a strong footings in Test cricket. Reason?
Perhaps, Rohit is thinking too much about proving his worth in Test cricket. In other words, he is trying too hard.
This was the same Rohit who used to struggle in the ODIs while batting lower-down the order. He took inspiration from Yuvraj Singh, who took time to settle down in international cricket.
But it’s been almost a decade that Rohit, but he is still to establish himself as a Test cricketer.
The 3rd Test match against the West Indies, Rohit got the perfect opportunity to make it count. Unfortunately, Rohit turned out to be a flop while his bowing teammate Ravichandran Ashwin scored his fourth Test century.
It will too early to write off a cricketer of Rohit’s caliber also. Because he is effortlessly a very natural stroke-maker.
More importantly, he is the one of most well-equipped batsmen against the short-pitch deliveries. Still wondering why he can’t get it right in Test cricket!
