After receiving initial hiccups in the first session, Team India recovered well in the second session with the help of gritty half-century from Stuart Binny- also his first in Test Cricket. Stuart didn’t had the best of the starts to his Test career as he got out early in the first innings and wasn’t able to impress with the ball either. However, junior Binny delivered for his country when it mattered the most and his match-saving knock of 78 will immensely boost his confidence. If Binny gets his second game on this tour, he will be a completely different player, even as a bowler.
I’m also impressed with Bhuvneshwar Kumar in this Test match who not only excelled with his bowling but also utilized his batting skills to great effect. He has the potential to become a genuine all-rounder for his team as he has a great cricketing mind and reads the situation well.
Team India has managed to salvage the Test here and the post Tea session would be a mere formality for both sides.
