Kevin Pietersen seems to be lacking all the luck right now, as after being snubbed from a place in the England squad, he is to miss the Indian Premier League owing to an injury.

While playing for Surrey against Leicestershire in the County Championship, Pietersen injured his calf and Achilles and will have to miss the remaining matches of the Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Sunrisers Hyderabad Tweeted: “Unfortunately Kevin Pietersen @kp24 will not be joining us due to a calf injury that he sustained yesterday. We wish him a speedy recovery.”

Pietersen was purchased by the Hyderabad Sunrisers in the IPL 2015 auctions for Rs two crores, but was allowed to play in the county championship to strengthen his bid for the England selection.

The former England skipper, however, was not picked by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), citing “massive trust issues” with the stylish right-hander.
