The 2nd Test between India and Sri Lanka is hanging in balance, despite Virat Kohli’s team managing to take crucial wickets on Day 2. Sri Lanka ended the day on 140/3, as they are still training the game by 253 runs.

India managed to get the wicket of Dimuth Karunaratne, when he was dismissed cheaply by Umesh Yadav, but Sri Lanka fought back with Kumar Sangakkara and Kaushal Silva.

Kumar Sangakkara couldn’t manage to complete his half-century, while Kaushal Silva failed to convert his fifty into a hundred. All Sri Lanka batsmen, apart from Karunaratne, got starts but failed to convert them into a big total.

After losing Kaushal Silva, the Islander got another partnership from Lahiru Thiramanne and Angelo Mathews, who remained unbeaten at stumps on Day 2.

Earlier, India managed to post 393 on the board, courtesy a fine hundred from opener KL Rahul. Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Wriddhiman Saha also made fifties to take India to a respectable total.

It was KL Rahul’s innings which helped India post a competitive total on the board, while Wriddhiman Saha also played a gutsy knock on Day 2, while playing with tailenders.
