Throughout the Australian tour, India kept losing matches one after the other, but it was Virat Kohli who won the majority of the battles. He took the Aussies head on. Starting from very first match of the Test series in Adelaide, Kohli was scoring freely.
Kohli emerged as the most destructive India batsman. Now that India team is gearing up for the big battle against the very same opposition, Kohli who will have to make the match for India at the top of the order.
He did it in India’s opening match of the World Cup against Pakistan and played the biggest knock of his life. He made 107 and anchored the Indian innings perfectly. He has to use his good track record against the Aussies to his advantage.
Can Kohli do it? Of late, Kohli has been getting out to cross-batted shots very often and in this match, the margin of error will be less. But with so much of technology being used in the game, he must have worked on his shortcoming.
Every dismissal is discussed individually and Kohli must have been gone through the rigmarole. For India and Kohli, this is the biggest opportunity to make a history and knowing the Delhi cricketer, he will not leave just like that!
