The BCCI is apprehensive about allowing its players to part take in other international T20 leagues for fear of devaluing their own franchisee in the T20 format. This was revealed to Drcricket7 by a top official of the board.
In recent years, as several players had approached the BCCI to take part in different T20 leagues, the BCCI has always been adamant about not giving permission without revealing any reason for its reservations.
“You can’t be playing in a T20 league and devaluing your own IPL salary,” a source told Drcricket7. After all the Indian IPL pays the highest salaries in the world of cricket.
To ensure the availability of top players during the domestic seasons, the BCCI also disallowed the state level players from playing in such leagues such as the Caribbean Premier League, the T20 league in England the Big Bash T20 league in Australia.
