Rain, wet outfield suspend play in Fatullah without a ball being bowled on Day 2

Rain

This didn’t come as a surprise, seeing the weather forecast and the heavy showers the Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium received in the morning, as the whole day’s play was abandoned without a ball being bowled.

Umpires did a couple of inspections, but after finding conditions not improving called off the play. The weather forecast for next two days is also gloomy and the rain is expected to play a spoilsport in remaining three days.

On the opening day as well a considerable amount of overs were lost owing to rain. To make up for the lost overs, the play was slated to start half-an-hour early, but the conditions worsened on Day 2.

The rain is expected to further strengthen as the week progresses, seeing the monsoon has hit Bangladesh and most parts of the country are receiving heavy rains.

Team India will resume from 239/0 on Day 3, with Shikhar Dhawan (150 not out) and Murali Vijay (89 not out) are unbeaten in the middle.
