Onus now remains with Indian middle order – Kiran More at Lunch, Day 3 of Lord’s Test

19th July 2014, New Delhi: Bhuvneshwar Kumar has once again guided India to a strong position in this Test match. With England managing only 316 runs in their first innings, it gives Team India a strong chance to end this match on a winning note. However, the onus would lie on the Indian batsmen who should look for at least 340-360 runs in their second innings as that will give its bowlers a strong chance to go after the English batsmen.I would also like to see how the Indian middle order performs in the second innings, as that has been slight cause of worry for us and if India has to post a good total on the board then the likes of Virat Kohli, Cheteshwar Pujara and Shikhar Dhawan have to come up with big knocks in this innings.

The Indian bowling attack has been once again led by young Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who finished with an exceptional bowling figures of 6/82 – the second best Test bowling figures by an Indian at Lord’s after Ladha Amar Singh in 1936. After every inning, you get to see a different facet of Bhuvi’s game and that’s because he is continuously learning and improving in his game. He has already taken some huge stride in his international career and we all would hope that the Indian think tank handles him carefully in order to prolong his career. Praveen Kumar is one example which comes to my mind, who showed a lot of promise with his swing bowling initially, but lost its path suddenly.
