Suresh Raina is not yet fully recovered from viral fever and set to miss the 2nd ODI against New Zealand. The team management has given the southpaw more time to recover from the illness for the matches to follow.
Raina had missed the opening match of the series in Dharamsala too. The Indian team won the match convincingly by six wickets. Delhi’s Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium is to host the 2nd ODI between India and New Zealand.

BCCI in a statement informed: “The BCCI Medical team has confirmed that Suresh Raina, who is recovering from a bout of viral fever and had missed the Dharamsala ODI, is ruled out of the 2nd ODI against New Zealand.”
“The team management has allowed Suresh Raina more time to recover. There will be no replacement in the team.”

Raina, however, went for practicing with the team on Tuesday. He took part in the net session, alongwith captain MS Dhoni. The Indian team has taken a 1-0 lead over the Blackcaps in Dharamsala.
