Team India

Team India has proved that they are a force to be reckon with in the batting department, after posting 300 in 1st ODI, but the same cannot be said about when it comes down to bowling.

India are required to make massive improvements in their bowling, and in the 2nd ODI at the Gabba the Indian bowlers, spinners in particular, will definitely be at test once again by Australia.

The Australia vs India 2nd ODI will be played at the Gabba, Brisbane. The game is scheduled for a 08:50 IST (11:20 local | 03:20 GMT) start.

“Our morale is very good because we played very good cricket and we know that,” Rohit Sharma said. “But we need to learn how to take wickets in the middle.”

“How to build pressure in the middle overs is something we need to be aware off. Whoever is bowling in the middle overs, spinners or fast bowlers, they just need to make a habit of making breakthroughs in the middle which is very important.

“If wickets fall in the middle, then it affects the momentum of the opposition team. That is what we need to do in the second ODI,” Rohit added.

The batting is not a concern for India, as they managed to post a 300 plus score at the WACA, courtesy a solid performance from their top-order.

Rohit Sharma made a big hundred, while Virat Kohli also made useful contribution, while MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja provided the finishing touch.

“In Perth, we batted and bowled well with the new, ball but were halted in the middle phase of the game. Australia created a very good partnership and after that we were not able to get back into the game.”

“We still need to work well in our bowling and get those breakthroughs whenever there is a big partnership going on. If you don’t take wickets in the middle, it is always going to get difficult especially here in Australia.”

Australia playing XI (possible): Shaun Marsh, Aaron Finch, Steve Smith (c), George Bailey, Glenn Maxwell, John Hastings, Mathew Wade (wk), James Faulkner, Joel Paris, Scott Boland and Josh Hazlewood.

India playing XI (possible): Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, Manish Pandey, MS Dhoni (c & wk), Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ishant Sharma, Barinder Sran and Umesh Yadav.
