After beating the archrivals Pakistan at the Eden Gardens, Team India must be brimming with confidence, as it was a clinical victory for them, and came after a shocking loss to New Zealand.
The hosts, however, are not taking Bangladesh, their next opponent, lightly and gearing up for showcasing another allround performance, this time at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
India definitely heading into the contest with an advantage, as they have defeated Bangladesh twice in the recent Asia Cup, including in the final match to lift the cup.
Despite having an upper hand, India pacer Ashish Nehra insisted that the team is wary of Bangladesh, as their recent record shows that they are a dangerous side.
“Bangladesh have been doing good, everybody knows,” Nehra said. “They played the Asia Cup finals with us. There were other teams like Pakistan and Sri Lanka also, they have beaten them.”
“In this format, you can’t take any team lightly,” he added. “The way Bangladesh have progressed in last 3-4 years is amazing. We have to play to our potential to beat a team like Bangladesh.”
Bangladesh have lost both their matches so far in the World T20 2016, including a defeat against Australia at the very same venue yesterday.
