Bangladesh have received another injury setback, after road accident of ODI skipper Mashrafe Mortaza, as Mahmudullah has been ruled out of the India series.
Mahmudullah has suffered a fractured finger, which would take three to four weeks to heal, ruling him completely out of the one-off Test and three ODIs against India.
“Mahmudullah hurt the index finger on his left hand while attempting a catch during training today,” team physiotherapist Baizidul Islam informed. “X-rays revealed a fracture which usually takes three to four weeks to heal.”
A day earlier, Bangladesh suffered a scare when their ODI skipper Mortaza was hit by a bus, when he was travelling to stadium on a cycle rickshaw.
He, however, escaped serious injuries and is expected to feature in the opening match of the series.
