India have maintained a fine momentum ahead of their tournament opener. They have won both their practice match, and all set to start their campaign against archrivals Pakistan in Birmingham on June 4.
However, the Indian team have their own concerns. Yuvraj Singh hasn’t taken part in India’s practice game because of illness, but he will remain a vital cog in their Champions Trophy defence in the United Kingdom.

“Yuvi’s exploits need little chronicling at this stage of his career,” VVS Laxman said. “He has not had much cricket in the last few weeks, but he is a big-match player with loads of experience under his belt.”
“He is a shoo-in for the playing XI,” he added. “The good thing is that India’s opening game against Pakistan is not until June 4, which gives the team management and Yuvi a little more time.”
