India skipper Virat Kohli has appreciated his bowlers, but came down heavily at his batsmen after a stunning loss in the 4th ODI. The Indian team lost the game from the winning position in Antigua.

“We bowled really well to restrict them to 189,” Kohli pointed out. “Our shot selection wasn’t up to the mark, losing crucial wickets at crucial stages. You’ve got to keep up the momentum through the game.”

West Indies captain Jason Holder finished with a fifer. He dismantled India’s lower-order, and scripted a memorable win for his side. Earlier, Windies new-ball bowlers also created early pressure over the Indians.

Shikhar Dhawan (5), Virat Kohli (3) and Dinesh Karthik (2) were sent back pavilion inside 13 overs. Ajinkya Rahane played well, but he failed to accelerate. He made a fine fifty, while MS Dhoni also scored a half-century.

Sanjay Bangar said that the pitch kept getting slower and shot-making wasn’t easy. “And those have been the nature of wickets we have seen so far because, again, we are playing on same track (we played on) just two days ago.”

“So, the wicket kept getting slower and slower, we didn’t really bat to our potential…it was a gettable score.”
