Shikhar Dhawan smashed yet another fifty against South Africa and broke Sachin Tendulkar’s record. He led the Indian team towards victory, and also became the fastest batsman to score 1000 runs in the ICC Tournaments.
Sachin made the record in 18 innings, but Dhawan took only 16 innings to break master blaster’s record. In the last edition of the Champions Trophy, Dhawan got the man of the match. He had smashed 363 runs in 5 matches.

With Dhawan’s 78 India won the match and entered the semifinals. India won the toss and opted to bowl first by which they restricted the total to 191 runs. Virat Kohli and Dhawan stitched a 128-run partnership.
After winning a match against Pakistan, India has had level of confidence, but their performance in the match against Sri Lanka led them down. But, Indians booked the place in the last-4 with a convincing win.
