Discarded allrounder Shahid Afridi is looking to make a comeback into the Pakistan team by playing in overseas T20 leagues. Afridi currently plays only T20 cricket, after retiring from Tests and one-dayers.

Afridi, who is currently playing in England’s T20 league, was overlooked by Pakistan selectors for the upcoming England tour, in a bid to give youngsters a chance in the national team.

The former Pakistan captain, meanwhile, insisted that there is still some cricket left in him, and he has told chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq that he is available for selection, if needed.

“I’ll be available for the national team whenever it needs me,” Afridi told cricket.com.au. “In fact before coming (to this interview) I spoke with the chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq and told him that it is good to have youngsters in the team but in case he needs me I will be available.”

The 36-year-old Afridi insisted that he is working hard to remain fit for international cricket, and aiming to play in Big Bash League, and other league for coming back into the Pakistan Cricket Team.

“I am very focused on cricket and want to continue it,” Afridi said. “I am looking after myself very well and working hard on my fitness. “I still feel that I can play for the next couple of years whether it is for Pakistan or PSL (Pakistan Super League), Big Bash or England (domestic) T20s.”
