‘Satisfied’ KL Rahul Looking to Carry Form in Remaining Matches

KL Rahul is enjoying a purple patch right now. He was in rich form in the recently concluded Indian Premier League, and now has channalised his IPL energy into the international cricket.

The Karnataka-born scored his maiden ODI century on debut to become the first Indian batsman to achieve the feat, and 11th overall, helping the Indian team in thumping Zimbabwe in the opening game of the three-match series.

Rahul, after being named man of the match, after his scintillating hundred, said he is enjoying his batting, and satisfying by the way he paced his innings at the two-paced Harare Cricket Club wicket.

“I enjoyed my batting. The wicket was tough, so I couldn’t be complacent,” Rahul insisted. “I wanted to play out the new ball, and then take it from there. I’m really satisfied with the way I carried on and stayed not out in the end.”

It was no less than a fairytale debut for the Indian opener. He needed to hit a six to reach the triple figures, and he did it by hitting a massive six over the long-on boundary.

“I wasn’t thinking much, there was just one way to get to a century,” KL Rahul said. “I wanted to hold my shape and just hit it. There are five more games, it’s a sporty wicket.”
