MS Dhoni Batting

Mahendra Singh Dhoni has silenced his critics with back-to-back match winning knocks. He bailed India out on a couple of occasions. Dhoni then played an important innings in the last game against Sri Lanka in Colombo.

Before this series there were arguments floating about Dhoni’s finishing abilities. But, Indian coach Ravi Shastri has backed the old warhorse, calling him a massive influence in the Indian Cricket Team’s dressing room.

“MS Dhoni is a massive influence on the team,” Shastri insisted. “He is a living legend in the dressing room and an ornament to the game. By no means or by any stretch of imagination he is finished or even half finished yet.”

In the series against Sri Lanka, Dhoni has made three 100 plus partnerships in the middle-order. It also include a match-saving stand with Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the 2nd ODI. And, his keeping has been exceptional as always.

“How do you pick players? When they are good, and Dhoni is the best limited-overs’ keeper in the country,” the Indian coach Shastri stressed. “Forget his batting stats, what else do you want.”
