The Committee of Administrators has asked the Indian Cricket Board to name the Champions Trophy squad. India have missed the deadline of naming the squad for the upcoming tournament in the United Kingdom.
Seven nations have already named their respective squads for the tournament. The Indian Board has deliberately delayed the announcement of the squad. It feels that the new revenue formula of the ICC hurts its revenues.
“You are aware that the squad representing India at the ICC tournament was to be submitted by April 25 but the squad has not even been selected as yet,” Committee of Administrators said.
“Please convene a meeting of the selection committee for selecting the squad immediately,” the Committee added. “The squad can then be submitted to the ICC without prejudice to BCCI’s legal rights.”
The tournament will start from June 1, right after the Indian Premier League. India will play their first match against Pakistan on June 4. They will next play Sri Lanka on June 8 and South Africa on June 11.
