The Indian team is on a role at the moment. They blanked Sri Lanka in Tests, ODIs and T20s. Now they have Australia to face in the limited-overs matches. India will play five one-dayers and three T20s against the Aussies.
However, it won’t be easy for them to go past Australia, like they did against the Islanders. Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly believes that the Indian team is favorite to win, but they will face stiff challenge from the visitors.
“At home, India will be very tough to beat,” Ganguly said. “India will win but 5-0 (like against Sri Lanka) may not be possible as Australia are a strong side. They (selectors) want to assess the youngsters.”

Ganguly also pointed out the different combinations the team management are trying ahead of the World Cup. He said that the team enough time to prepare itself for the marquee event that will take place in the United Kingdom.
“It’s a good move looking ahead to the World Cup 2019. We have enough time to prepare,” the former skipper said. “Everyone will get a chance, that’s what you need in a team building.”
The first game of the five-match series will take place on September 17 in Chennai.
