India Opens Account Beat the Unbeaten’Kiwis’ at First T20I in Delhi

T20 it was introduced by the England and wale cricket board (EBC) in 2003 for the inter country competition in England and Wales.

 

India beat New Zealand by 53 runs.

This T20 will be remembered for two reasons:

1) Ashish Nehra’s Farewell match.

2) Registered first win over kiwis in T20Is.

 

Ashish Nehra retiring after 18 years, a left -arm pacer, also from Delhi, to bid his India cricket career goodbye. This was his last international match of his career.

 

Delhi players Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan carried Nehra on their shoulders after the win and took the victory lap.

 

This was India’s first ever win in T20Is against

New Zealand. For India, Axar Patel was the pick of the bowler as he finished the match with the figure of two for 20 in his allotted four overs. Apart from Azar, Yuzuendra Chahal picked up two wickets. India now lead the 3-match T20 series 1-0.

 

In the end, Kane Williamson’s boys managed just 149/8. India bowlers as they kept tightening rate increasing with each passing ball.

Later Virat Kohli added a rapid-firee 26 from 11balls to take India over 200 mark.
