ICC Test Ranking: Cheteshwar Pujara Climbs to 2nd; India Remain First

Cheteshwar Pujara has moved to a career-best position in the latest ICC Test Ranking. He is now at the second spot in the recently released rankings. Australia captain Steve Smith continues to remain numero uno.

Meanwhile, the Indian team continues to remain at the top-spot with 121 rating points. Australia remained second, followed by South Africa, England and New Zealand. Pakistan and Sri Lanka are sixth and seventh, respectively.

India and Australia recently fighting for a Test series. The series is currently locked at one game apiece. Australia won the series opener in Pune, while India leveled the series in Bengaluru.

The 3rd Test between them ended in a stalemate in Ranchi. Now the series decider will take place in Dharamsala.

Ravindra Jadeja, meanwhile, has overlapped Ravichandran Ashwin in the Test rankings. He has 899 rating points, 37 more than the second-placed Ashwin. Rangana Herath climbed to third, followed by Josh Hazlewood.

Ashwin has lost a place in the allrounders’ rating, and now ranked second behind Shakib Al Hasan. Jadeja remains third, followed by Ben Stokes and Mitchell Starc.
