South Africa speedster Dale Steyn does not enjoy a healthy relationship with Bangladesh crowd, after his not-so-popular comments on playing against the minnows.

Steyn had earlier said he would rather save himself for big tournaments, rather than “wasting the few balls” that are left in his career against Bangladesh.

The comments made by Dale Steyn was not appreciated the Bangladesh fans and he had to face a lot of criticism on the social media sites.

Steyn, however, later apologized for the comment and insisted his comments were misunderstood and they were never intended to be disrespectful.

Dale Steyn tweeted: “I see some people have misunderstood what I said in a recent interview… Sorry if u feel offended, now go re read and try understand. Peace”

The Proteas pacer, meanwhile, tried to fill the gap between him and fans by playing street football in Bangladesh when it was heavily in Chittagong on the fourth day.

Steyn was in his hotel room when he spotted a group of children playing street football in Bangladesh and couldn’t resist himself going out and showing his soccer skills.

Steyn Tweeted on playing street football in Bangladesh: “Stuck in my room all day, watching these kids playing soccer in the rain looks like plenty fun… #shouldigo”

On a rain-soaked pitch, Steyn displayed his footballing skills and delivered a beautiful through ball beating defenders and fellow teammates.

Meanwhile, the 1st Test between Bangladesh and South Africa ended in a tame draw, as the final day of the Test match was washed out without a ball being bowled.

“There are some positives out of this match,” Bangladesh skipper Mushfiqur Rahim. “We bowled them out, we got a lead. Liton and Mustafizur did well. Shakib chipped in and so did Mahmudullah.”

“Although Shahid was unlucky, he bowled well and Mustafizur is a revelation,” he added. “When you are playing the No.1 Test side you will have to play really well.”
