Steve Waugh has lent his support to new Australian opening pair of Matthew Renshaw and David Warner. According to the former Aussie captain, both Renshaw and Warner have the technique to play in the sub-continent.
Warner and Renshaw have played just four Tests together, but so far have complemented each other pretty well. The Australian team will tour India for a four-match Test series in February-March.
“They look like they’ve got good temperament,” Waugh told cricket.com.au. “That’s the main thing in Test cricket. You’ve got to have the temperament to get through the tough periods.”

“It will test them in different ways in India – technique, conditions and different pitches,” he added. “It’s been nice timing for Australian cricket. They’ve played four Tests together, they’re winning and they’re playing well.
Earlier, there were speculations that Shaun Marsh might replace Renshaw for the India tour. But, the opener’s old-fashioned century in Sydney has certainly cemented his place for the testing tour.
