Is Ashish Nehra ready to Lead Indian Cricket Team attack in ODIs?

After having played the most effective role with the ball in India’s recent World T20 campaign at home, ace fast bowler Ashish Nehra isn’t ready to hang his boots.

Instead, the experienced pacer wants to represent the Indian Cricket Team in ODIs once again. If picked, he could also be a good guide the young crop of fast bowlers.

However, a certain section in the team management understands that Nehra’s job was till the World T20 and he has done his job very well. But the idea of picking him for the ODI team hasn’t crossed anyone’s mind.

Nehra, who has been India’s best bowler since the T20 bilateral series in Australia this January, is also looking at this year’s IPL as a great opportunity to prove his bowling fitness without breaking down.

“He wants to raise the bar, no matter what,” a source close to Nehra revealed it to Drcricket7 on Sunday. Come to think of it, Nehra’s is also India’s bets bet to revive the sagging fortune of the bowling department.

A bowling attack which can’t even defend big scores on a good batting track surely needs a mentor like Nehra on the field.

By the virtue of India’s best bowler in the death overs in last decade or so, he should at least be given a chance to make a comeback. “Age is just a number for him,” the source added.
