It’s no secret that country comes first for MS Dhoni, and he showed it during the World Cup 2015 in Australia, when didn’t return home after the birth of his daughter Ziva.
India were preparing to defend their crown in Australia, and MS Dhoni was in no mood to leave his team, setting his priorities straight, the national duty.
“As of now I am on national duty so I think everything else can wait,” MS Dhoni had said. He later admitted that not meeting Ziva “was a tough period”.
India swashbuckling batsman Suresh Raina, who is also a close friend of MS Dhoni, has revealed why the skipper opted not to return home when Ziva was born.
“I have learnt to stay happy in my teams happiness from Dhoni,” Suresh Raina said. “When Dhoni’s baby was about to be born I asked him why he wasn’t going, he told the country comes first for him.”
Suresh Raina also praised MS Dhoni for being calm as a cucumber under pressure, also calling him an inspiration and someone who has a positive impact on the dressing room.
“If you are under pressure and you talk to him, he will calm you down,” Suresh Raina insisted. “If you have such inspiration in life then you don’t need any other motivation.”
