Meanwhile, New Zealand have decided to field an unchanged squad for the game, and pacer Tim Southee, who was doubtful for the clash, is also in the playing XI. Southee went down in practice after being hit by straight throw.

“It was just a ball to the shoulder,” Brendon McCullum said. “I asked him this morning if he got one in the leg as well because he managed to go down, which I couldn’t quite work out. He’s good.”

“He bowled well today. He managed to get through his work, so I would expect him to play. The guys have really stood up over the last little while and performed well,” McCullum added. “The combinations we have rolled out have worked pretty well as well.”

Australia, on the other hand, have also made few changes in the playing XI as regular skipper Michael Clarke will lead the team against the Black Caps. George Bailey has been named as the 12th man as Clarke will took over duties from him.

“Everyone is sick of talking and reading about my injury, my old injury I should say,” Clarke said. “The body feels really good, I have worked really hard. The work I’ve put in has given me a chance to get back out on to the park and be able to play at 100 per cent.”

“I know I can walk out on to the field tomorrow and go at 100 miles an hour and if I get injured I get injured,” he added. I’m like every other player. I feel like I’m as fit and healthy as I’ve been in at least five years. I’m ready to go.”
