The Bangalore Test may go down as a missed opportunity for India, after rain played spoilsport on four out of five days, but they would be having a perfect opportunity to seal the series in Nagpur.

Team India is likely to get a rank-tuner in Nagpur, much like the Mohali Test, and it would provide opportunity to Indian spinners to weave their magic, and seal the series, with one game to spare.

India vs South Africa 2nd Test Live Score Updates:

The India vs South Africa 2nd Test is scheduled for a 09:30 IST (04:00 GMT) start at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore. Viewers can catch the match live on Star Sports 1, Star Sports 3, Willow TV & Sky Sports 3, with live streaming option HERE, HERE and HERE. The live score updates of the 2nd Test will be available HERE, HERE and HERE.

Bowling is not India’s concern, as both Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin have bowled exceedingly well to bring South Africa batsmen on their knees in the series so far.

While faster bowlers – Varun Aaron, Umesh Yadav and Stuart  Binny – have also supported them pretty well. But, the problem with India is their opening slot.

Shikhar Dhawan has the backing of skipper Virat Kohli, and in the last match he seemed to have gained his lost touch by making a flowing 40, but India would be hoping for more from him in Nagpur.

“It’s just one knock away for Shikhar to get the big one,” Murali Vijay said. “Our goal is to win the game and put the team in better position every time we will go for bat. So that’s the criteria at the moment.”

Meanwhile, apart from the pitch, South Africa have other things to worry as well, like the fitness of Dale Steyn. Steyn is unlikely to play the Nagpur Test, and the Proteas have also called his replacement.

Seeing how the series has panned out so far, and the assistance spinners have got, the touring party may opt to play another spinner to assist Imran Tahir.

“Definitely a second spinner is an option,” Morne Morkel said. “We’ve got Dane Piedt, Simon Harmer, those guys really bowling well in the nets. I think it will all depend on Dale and his fitness what we go with.”
