WAGs Bumped off Second Leg of World T20 2016

The WAGs (wives and girlfriends) were meant to be with their better halves at the World T20 2016 championship at home.

But according to the BCCI sources, the board is still sticking to the old rule of not allowing the WAGs during the big tournament.

Drcricket7 was given to understand that there are a few members who within the BCCI who are in favour of allowing the WAGs with the cricketers.

Now it’s emerging that the WAGs are only allowed till the second practice game in Mumbai, following which the players won’t be allowed to travel with them when the main leg of the T20 extravaganza begins in Nagpur.

It was also revealed that the WAGs rule is also restricted to the bilateral series as well. If the team is playing a series for 30 days, the WAGs are allowed to be with the team for a week. If it’s more than 30 days, then they are allowed for two weeks.

If the team is playing an important tournament like the World T20, which is a two-week event, the current management of the board who are looking at cricketing affairs prefer to ensure that the cricketers are focused on their games during that time.
