If there is any batsman who has been consistently scoring across all formats, and in all conditions, it is Virat Kohli. The dashing right-hander has been in midas touch throughout the season.
In Royal Challengers Bangalore’s opening match of the Indian Premier League, Kohli was again in his element and scored a fantastic half-century.
Batting legend VVS Laxman hailed Kohli’s batting prowess, saying that it is a treat to watch the RCB captain bat.
“It is amazing to see the way Virat continues to score so consistently for whichever team he plays and whatever position he bats at,” Kohli said.
“It is great to see the kind of level he has taken his T20 batting to; he is one of the most exciting batsmen in world cricket,” he added. “His consistency and adaptability is phenomenal.”
Laxman, who currently is with Sunrisers Hyderabad in the coaching role, also hailed AB de Villers, who ended up making a scorching fifty for the Bangalore-base side.
“From RCB’s point of view it was good to see AB de Villiers perform like that. He didn’t have a great World Twenty20 and he must be disappointed that South Africa, despite being one of the strongest teams in the tournament, didn’t qualify for the knockout stage.
