Virat Kohli Praises Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s New-Ball Effort

India could not afford to lose the match against South Africa to book a spot in semifinals. The defending champions put down the hammer and defeated South Africa by eight wickets at the Kennington Oval.

The Indian team’s effort with the new-ball was nothing less than outstanding. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, in particular, was spot-on with both the new and old ball. He eventually finished with two wickets in the game.

“I can’t pinpoint any negatives,” Virat Kohli said. “The pressure was built by the bowlers, and that led to those breakthroughs. The bowlers were on the money, and that helps the fielders get into better positions.”

“Our bowlers bowled really well and the fielders backed it up. It was a complete performance in the field,” the Indian captain insisted. “We grabbed the the chances that came our way.”

Even South Africa captain AB de Villiers also praised India’s allround effort on the field. “They bowled extremely well,” de Villiers said. “There were no cut balls . There were no soft boundary options.”
