The Indian Premier League might be over, but the contest between MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli is not yet over! The two Indian Cricket Team captains are all set to play exhibition matches in the United States, according to reports.
A few IPL teams, including Rising Pune Supergiants, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians, have expressed their desire to play exhibition matches in Houston to cash in on the opportunity of sizable Indians and South Asians living in the region.
The dates are not yet confirmed, but the matches are likely to take place in September. Earlier, there were plans of organising the matches in the period between Zimbabwe (June) and West Indies tour (July).
“The matter is expected to be discussed at the IPL Governing Council in Bengaluru before start of the final match tomorrow,” the source said. “The venue is tentatively Houston. However the dates need to be chalked out.”
“Earlier, it was being discussed it would happen in the window available between India’s tour of Zimbabwe and West Indies,” the official added. “But it could now be held in September also. All three teams are expected to play against each other. Obviously, major attractions will be Kohli and Dhoni.”
