Virat Kohli has reached to a career-best third place in the latest ICC Test rankings. The Indian Test captain has climbed one spot, and he is only behind Steve Smith and Joe Root. Kohli has 833 rating points to his name.
Kohli will have a chance of overtaking the second-placed Root in the upcoming matches. Just 14 points separate Root and Kohli in the points table. Smith, meanwhile, have 897 rating points to his name.
In the bowlers’ rankings, Ravichandran Ashwin is at the top. He has 891 rating points, followed by Rangana Herath, Dale Steyn and James Anderson. Ravindra Jadeja is seventh in the ICC Test rankings.

Ashwin, however, has consolidated top-place in the allrounders’ rankings. He now has 493 rating points to his name. Jadeja, meanwhile, has reached fourth, which is his career-best position in the allrounders’ table.
India have a couple of Test matches left against England. After the five-match Test series, the Indian team will face England in a limited-overs series, featuring three ODIs and as many T20 matches.
